Tasks:
- Improving efficiencies in equipment maintenance and storage was a major goal in the design of the replacement building
- Design to accommodate a three-ton bridge crane in the maintenance area
Project Highlights:
- O’Brien & Gere’s innovative approach to HVAC concepts for the operational requirements resulted in an estimated cost savings improvement of 15% above conventional design approaches
The following specialty design subsystems address energy conservation and pollution prevention for Aerospace Ground Equipment Facility(AGE):
- Air compressor, dryer, and distribution
- Vehicle engine exhaust collection
- Lube oil storage and delivery
- Above ground fuel storage and dispensing
- High pressure washers
- Oil/water separators for maintenance floor and washrack drainage
- Package terminal air conditioning units (PTACs) for offices and break room
O’Brien & Gere provided Title II construction support, including:
- Shop drawing review
- Field inspection
- Documentation of contractor issues
- Daily reports and photo documentation to the Base Civil Engineer
