Project Highlights:
- Completed conceptual and preliminary design of a treatment plant expansion, which was required to accommodate a projected increase in COD from 30,000 lbs/day to 62,500 lbs/day
- Upgraded the liquid stream to include:
- An intermediate pump station
- Additional aeration capacity using a jet aeration system
- An additional final-clarifier
- Conversion of an existing clarifier to a sludge thickener
- Upgraded the sludge treatment system to include:
- Replacement of the existing materials-handling equipment associated with the sludge dryer
- Addition of a new sludge dryer with associated material handling equipment and support facilities to allow for the simultaneous operation of two existing belt filter presses
- Integrated a plant-wide PLC for monitoring the facility’s operation
