Project Highlights:
O’Brien & Gere developed and modeled an extensive storm water management program to address impacts on the flood-prone area of the Hackensack River. Modeling activities included:
- Routing methodology
- Detention facility sizing
- Individual catchment areas for evaluation of surcharge areas
- Hydraulic line grades
Engineering design consisted of interim facilities to address phased project development. The project involved design review and coordination with:
- Corps of Engineers and NYSDEC for wetlands permitting
- NYSTA and NYSDOT for roadway and entrance improvements
- NYSDEC and NYSDOT for storm water management and landfill consolidation and closures
- Town of Clarkson consultants for all phases of site development
O’Brien & Gere provided a broad range of services during the construction phase of the project. The team coordinated with utility companies, health department, water department, sewer district, fire inspector, County drainage agency, Town plumbing inspector, NYS Thruway Authority, and Town highway department
Today, the four-level Center boasts nearly 300 specialty shops, 14 restaurants, skating rink, 68-ft. ferris wheel, stadium style theater complex, and state-of-the-art IMAX theater.
