A professional engineer with 27 years of experience, Mr. Madden is highly skilled in hazardous waste management, UST design removal/replacement, industrial process engineering, instrumentation and control, storm water management, and supervision and coordination of preliminary and final design. Mr. Madden has an extensive resume of projects and has worked for a variety of large industrial facilities and major municipalities.

As Senior Managing Engineer with 27 years of environmental experience, Mark Distler is currently responsible for management and technical direction of many O’Brien & Gere’s vapor intrusion (VI) projects. He directs a wide range of tasks associated with VI sampling, evaluation, strategy, and mitigation, and has developed and managed quality control activities at some of the nation’s largest and most complex VI sites. As a member of a multi-state task force on VI, Mr. Distler consults regularly with state regulators and other stakeholders in the development of regulatory policy and scientific methods used to assess and evaluate VI sites. Mr. Distler leads a team of O'Brien & Gere VI practitioners in the development of out technical skills and market awareness.

Jon Norman has over 20 years of professional experience with air permitting, regulatory compliance evaluations, air pollution control design, and chemical process design. As a Managing Engineer, Mr. Norman is responsible for providing comprehensive project management and follow-up after project completion. He has lent his knowledge and skill to numerous sector projects, and has demonstrated expertise in RACT/BACT/MACT studies, industrial ventilation, and waste minimization. Mr. Norman currently heads our duct injection/SO2 control program, and has considerable experience with delivering this innovative technology to clients for the abatement of SO2 and acid gases in discharge ducts.

Mr. Roland has over 26 years of professional work experience, and has demonstrated expertise with CERCLA and RCRA hazardous waste/solid waste site investigations and remedial design, New Jersey ISRA assessments and clean-up plans, strategic environmental management, brownfields, and industrial wastewater design. In addition to his engineering and management skills, Mr. Roland is also well versed in the area of expert testimony, and has provided this service to a number of clients.

Dr. Nasr has over 21 years of experience in municipal and industrial wastewater engineering. As Senior Vice President with O’Brien & Gere, he is currently responsible for the supervision of multidisciplinary teams involved in complex engineering programs. He serves as the firm’s Wastewater Technical Coordinator and is responsible for providing expert guidance to in-house staff and clients. His diverse management capabilities include scheduling, budgeting, preparing contract documents, technical review, construction review, and coordination with regulatory agencies. Actively involved in our Technology and Innovations Solutions Group, Mr. Nasr helps brainstorm and deliver efficient, high-tech, and cost-effective engineering solutions to a broad range of environmental, water and wastewater, capital and facilities, and development programs.

As a Senior Manager, Fabrication at O’Brien & Gere, Stephen Palin is responsible for managing activities at the firm’s 100,000 sq.-ft. fabrication facility, achieving improvements in the facility’s operational performance, and positioning the division for growth. With a career spanning 15 years, Mr. Palin has amassed considerable experience in the areas of design, fabrication, and construction for custom equipment. Mr. Palin specializes in stationary source testing, air permitting, and mechanical systems design, and is also an active member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Committee.
