Volunteering with the Lowcountry Food Bank

Lowcountry Food Bank Lindbergh & Associates recently volunteered with the Lowcountry Food Bank on February 9, 2012. Members from the Company spent the afternoon filling boxes with food for the local hungry at the food bank, which serves the 10 coastal counties of South Carolina and distributes more than 18 million pounds of food a year. Lindbergh & Associates plans to continue volunteering with the organization throughout the year to support its effort to supply qualified recipients with one boxed of canned goods each month. Presenting Building Information Modeling at SAME Charleston Post

Portraits Kevin Chafin, a Sr. Manager at Lindbergh & Associates, and Phil Russo, a Sr. Technical Applications Analyst at O’Brien & Gere, presented at the SAME Charleston Post meeting on January 19, 2012 at the Hilton Garden Inn Charleston Airport in South Carolina. Kevin and Phil gave a presentation titled, "BIM/Revit – Lessons Learned and Future in DoD" focusing on a broad overview of building information modeling (BIM) and related trends within the Federal industry. The presentation provided lessons learned from Lindbergh & Associates’ recent transition from AutoCAD to Autodesk Revit, as well as insight into how the Department of Defense (DoD) is expanding its use of BIM to more effectively exchange data from planning, through design and construction and into operations and maintenance.

Planning for 2012 at SAME Kentuckiana Small Business Workshop

Lindbergh & Associates recently attended the SAME Kentuckiana 2012 Small Business Workshop on January 24 – 25, 2012. O’Brien & Gere President & COO Lee Davis joined O’Brien & Gere’s Richard Garcia, Sr. Vice President, Mark Lazo, Technical Director, Jim Davis, Sr. Project Manager, and Lindbergh & Associates’ Kevin Chafin, Sr. Manager, and Keane McLaughlin, Business Development, for the two-day event that brought together more than 400 attendees from 250 different companies and agencies. The event offered information on the upcoming year for regional U.S. Army Corp of Engineers (USACE) districts and fiscal year 2012-2013 forecasts. In addition, O’Brien & Gere and Lindbergh & Associates hosted a table for the 2nd Annual Matchmaking event, which paired small and large businesses for networking and potential partnership opportunities.

Design Starts on New Facility at Whiteman Air Force Base

Whiteman AFB O’Brien & Gere and Lindbergh & Associates have been retained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Louisville District to provide comprehensive architecture and engineering design services for a 9,000-square-foot Logistics Readiness Squadron facility at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri. This project is being completed under Lindbergh & Associates’ $3 million Indefinite Delivery / Indefinite Quantity contract for architecture and engineering design services to the Louisville District. The Companies are providing sustainable design for a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Silver Certified facility that complies with U.S. Air Force regulations of antiterrorism force protection, seismic design, and energy conservation. Awarded First Project at The Citadel

O’Brien & Gere and Lindbergh & Associates have been selected by The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina to perform a structural analysis at Deas Hall, a multi-story concrete framed building with masonry infill, at the Charleston, SC campus. The contract represents O’Brien & Gere and Lindbergh & Associates’ first project at this institution and will be completed under Lindbergh & Associates’ small Indefinite Delivery Contract with The Citadel. Due to signs of structural distress and settlement at Deas Hall, O’Brien & Gere and Lindbergh & Associates are performing a structural analysis to determine the cause of distress and develop a remediation plan.
