O’Brien & Gere will be presenting at the Western Dredging Association (WEDA) and Texas A&M University (TAMU)
Annual Western Hemisphere Dredging Conference taking place on June 10 – 13, 2012 at the Crowne Plaza Riverwalk hotel in San Antonio, TX. This year’s conference theme, “The Nuts & Bolts of Dredging," will focus on dredging and environmental issues associated with dredging programs that create a strong economy and enhance the marine environment. It will bring together North, Central, and South American dredging contractors, port authorities, other government agencies, environmentalists, consultants, academicians, and civil/ocean engineers throughout the Western Hemisphere to discuss various dredging fields.

Bob DeLorenzo, a senior project manager in the Hawthorne, NY office, and
Trevor Staniec, a project designer in the Syracuse, NY office, will give a presentation titled, “CSO Sediment Removal in an Urban Tributary” on June 13 at 9:00 a.m. The presentation, with Nayan Shah and Dabeiba Marulanda of
New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) and John De Rugeris of
CLE Engineering, will discuss the design and lessons learned during dredging of the Hendric Street Canal, a shallow tributary of Jamaica Bay in Brooklyn, NY.
