Company evaluates conditions at nine U.S. Army Reserve facilities in Puerto Rico

O’Brien & Gere has received a task order under its $12 million indefinite delivery contract (IDC) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Charleston District to provide architecture and engineering (A-E) services at nine 81st U.S. Army Reserve facilities comprising 53 buildings in Puerto Rico. At each facility, O’Brien & Gere is performing property assessments to evaluate conditions and inventories of property plant equipment and establish parameters to prepare services and preventative maintenance contracts. The project’s second phase will involve importing data into the General Funds Enterprise Business System (GFEBS) for each location. To facilitate the project’s compressed schedule, O'Brien & Gere’s assessment teams arrived on-site in Puerto Rico within three days of receiving the project award.

Under O'Brien & Gere's IDC with the Charleston District, the Company has previously completed 20 task orders. Some of these projects have included: 

¡  Property assessments for additional 81st U.S. Army Reserve facilities in Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, and South Carolina

¡  Facility repairs, study and design development, and a construction cost estimate for refurbishing the fish lift crowder area at the Cooper River Rediversion Project in St. Stephen, S.C.

¡  Utilities and infrastructure improvements at multiple military installations, including building seismic assessments, topographic and utility surveys, facility design, and energy analyses at Fort Jackson Army Base and Joint Base Charleston in S.C.

¡  A-E services for the research, review, study, and analysis of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Earth Science Division’s Applied Sciences Program

This contract represents O’Brien & Gere’s continued support of the Department of Defense and position as a key A-E service provider to the federal market.
