SCADA Systems
A plant-wide supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system provides real-time process control data to the operators to facilitate prompt decision-making, automated operations, and efficient record keeping.The SCADA system consists of distributed programmable logic controllers (PLC), remote industrial duty touch-screen operator interface terminals, and centrally located operator workstations. Communication utilizes Ethernet, ControlNet, and DeviceNet networks. Customized applications software developed by O’Brien & Gere is used to monitor status, control process equipment, initiate alarms, and create operating reports. |
Project Financing
The project has been financed by the Town using low-interest loans provided by the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation (NYSEFC) through both the Drinking Water and Clean Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF and CWSRF) programs. These programs have realized significant savings to the Town compared to traditional financing means.The project will be completed within the original budget of $24.22 million. |
