Greenhouse Gas
Climate change presents a business risk and a corporate greenhouse gas (GHG) management program is a way of anticipating and mitigating that risk. Businesses that take voluntary action now to manage GHG emissions will gain useful experience and potential economic rewards with respect to mandated GHG caps in the future. The starting point for a corporate GHG management program is the GHG inventory which tracks all direct and indirect GHG emissions across a business for a base year and subsequent years. The inventory facilitates the development of corporate GHG reduction goals to reduce emissions by a given percentage with respect to base year emissions.
