O’Brien & Gere and the Drescher Corporation are working together as Warner Energy, and have teamed with Clarkson University to develop a new small wind turbine that can be used in urban and rural areas. This project is currently in progress. The Metro Development Agency (MDA) has also added support to this clean and “green” effort by awarding the team one of their Grants for Growth. By researching ways to improve aerodynamics and developing new electrical generation concepts, the team has moved on to rotor/generator testing to optimize the design of the first full-scale 2.5 kW prototype. The patent for this design is pending.
