O’Brien & Gere has developed a treatment system for the remediation of groundwater contaminated with high concentrations of chlorinated and non-chlorinated solvents. The Volatilization Enhanced Vapor Phase Adsorption and Recovery (VEVPAR) system effectively removes 70%-100% of solvents from groundwater. Unlike traditional treatment systems that utilize carbon and/or air stripping, VEVPAR uses vapor phase adsorption to eliminate solvents – a method far more efficient than aqueous phase adsorption. Also, because there is no release to the atmosphere with vapor phase adsorption, companies need not possess air emission permits for groundwater remediation projects. VEVPAR provides a convenient, economical alternative to traditional methods of solvent removal.
