Mr. Alam brings to the firm more than 35 years experience in the field of wastewater engineering processes for pharmaceutical, chemical, mechanical, and biological applications for large-scale wastewater programs throughout North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. His expertise encompasses all aspects of wastewater engineering program management including studies, planning, design, construction and operations.

As Vice President of O’Brien & Gere’s Total Water Solutions, Mr. Alam’s expertise is focused on industrial wastewater treatment systems for pharmaceutical and other industries. This complements the firm’s Total Water Solutions program, which provides Water and Wastewater Engineering Programs for industrial and municipal clients at facilities throughout the U.S. and abroad.

Dr. Harper has 28 years of experience performing studies, designs, and operations associated with industrial wastewater treatment. His experience further includes hazardous waste project engineering and management, aerobic and anaerobic treatment, phys/chem treatment, solid waste management, environmental research, leachate recirculation, and storm water collection, conveyance, and treatment.

Areas of Expertise:

Dr. Greene has more than 23 years of professional experience, and currently provides leadership and technical guidance for wastewater and ground water treatment applications. His areas of technical expertise include biological water treatment, including aerobic, anaerobic and anoxic operating regimes; solid/liquid separation technologies, including membrane filtration, centrifugation, preparative chromatography, vacuum filtration and sedimentation; and modeling. Dr. Greene is experienced in the areas of municipal and industrial wastewater treatment as well as environmental process research and development. He has performed original research, project management, technical guidance, feasibility evaluations, treatability studies, field demonstrations, full-scale start-ups, computer modeling and process troubleshooting.

Mr. MacArthur has more than 37 years of professional engineering experience, and currently serves as a Senior Technical Director with O’Brien & Gere. He has served as lead design manager or technical consultant on numerous comprehensive municipal and industrial wastewater programs. Through his involvement in such programs over the last two decades, Mr. MacArthur has become a nationally recognized expert in the evaluation of existing systems, impact analysis of combined sewer overflow (CSO) on water quality, infiltration/ inflow analyses, field data gathering methodologies and procedures, evaluation of alternatives, implementation of selected remedies, and evaluation of effectiveness of implemented alternatives. He has also managed projects involving hazardous waste site remediation.

Mr. Stone has more than 26 years of professional engineering experience. As a Business Unit Leader for Total Water Solutions, he supervises teams of professionals engaged in a variety of large, complex projects for institutional, industrial, municipal and federal clients. He has been leading technical teams within these markets through design, constructions, and design-build contracting approaches. Mr. Stone is also a member of the Board of Directors, O’Brien & Gere Limited; and National Accounts Manager for Merck & Co., Inc., and BASF.

Areas of Expertise:

Mr. Wilkinson has more than 24 years of water quality based experience focusing primarily on industrial wastewater treatment; water reuse, recycling, and waste minimization; and water quality based regulatory work. His wastewater treatment experience includes conceptual level evaluations, trouble-shooting full-scale operation issues, optimization studies, treatability studies, pilot studies, cost estimating, and conceptual level design work. He has experience working on biological systems, chemical/physical systems, and land based treatment systems.

Water reuse, recycling, and waste minimization experience includes recovery of material (by treatment) for re-use in industrial processes, reuse of wastewater as boiler feed, cooling tower feed, and RO feedwater, and projects to reduce the quantity of waste material generated from treatment systems,. Water quality regulatory experience includes; assessment of water quality impacts to surface waters from point source and non-point source pollutants, evaluation of water quality based permit limits, water quality permitting, and conducting negotiations with regulatory officials.
