The Fenner Wind Power Project is located in the Town of Fenner in the central part of Madison County, New York. The project came online in the fall of 2001, and produces 30MW of electricity per year. There are twenty 1.5-megawatt wind turbines.
O’Brien & Gere performed the structural and geotechnical engineering designs for the electrical substation located at the site. O’Brien & Gere performed a bearing capacity and settlement analysis of the native subsurface soils. The electrical buildings, equipment supports and other site structures were founded on native soils using reinforced concrete foundations.
