Recirculated Cooling Water System

O'Brien & Gere provided evaluation, design, and construction services for a $7 million recirculated cooling water system at the Alcan Oswego Works facility in New York. The new system provided several environmental and industrial advantages over the previous system. It minimized the amount of water the plant withdrew from Lake Ontario, and eliminated discharge from the plant into nearby ponds and marshes. O'Brien & Gere's design also provided the plant with water of consistent quality and temperature - important factors for Alcan's production process.
