Bear Creek Wind Power Project

Bear Creek, Pennsylvania

The Bear Creek Wind Power Project is a 24 MW wind energy facility. The Project is expected to produce over 75 million kilowatt-hours of wind energy annually. There are twelve 2.0 MW wind turbines standing 397 feet tall.

O’Brien & Gere was responsible for the structural and geotechnical engineering designs of the substation site and the substation foundations. O’Brien & Gere performed a bearing capacity and settlement analysis of the native subsurface soils. The electrical building, equipment supports, and other site structures were founded on native soils using reinforced concrete foundations.  O’Brien & Gere assisted with the site grading and retaining wall designs to maintain level sites.
