O’Brien & Gere was retained to provide engineering and construction services under a design-build contract to increase the firm capacity of an existing 1 MGD water treatment plant to 2 MGD. The project included the addition of two new filters, a clearwell, pumping equipment, chlorination equipment, and instrumentation upgrades. The new filter equipment included modular steel gravity filters with mixed media, surface wash, and filter to waste.

O’Brien & Gere’s responsibilities included development of design drawings and specifications, procurement and construction of all process upgrade equipment and support, construction of the facilities, and construction management services.
