Andrews Air Force Base, MD
As part of a long-term rehabilitation and replacement initiative addressing aging infrastructure at Andrews Air Force Base, O'Brien & Gere was selected to provide design services to upgrade the Base's water distribution system. This program, which was the first phase of a two-phased design program at the Base, involved the replacement of approximately 25,000 lf of water main.
Tackling the demands of an aggressive schedule, O'Brien & Gere commenced with development and hydraulic analysis of the transmission and distribution system to identify Base expansion and upgrade needs over a 50-year period. The work was performed in parallel with the Water and Wastewater Master Plan concurrently being developed by O’Brien & Gere.
Replacing the transmission main improved hydraulic reliability to the eastern side of the Base, an area that had historically experienced pressure problems.
