O'Brien & Gere completed the upgrade and expansion of a water treatment plant for the Village of Waterloo, NY. Recommendations that O'Brien & Gere made for modifying the plant's existing filtration system and alternative water treatment technologies reduced the cost of the project, increased the plant's treatment capacity, and improved the quality and taste of the community's drinking water. O'Brien & Gere also assisted Waterloo officials in securing funds for the project from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and the New York State Department of Corrections. Design modifications to the plant increased its production capacity from 2 to 3 million gallons per day, and the capital cost of the expansion was kept to one-third of the second most cost-effective alternative.
