O’Brien & Gere was responsible for demolition, preliminary design, final design, construction, and construction administration services for the replacement of existing water storage tanks with new elevated water storage tanks. Site constructability analyses were conducted to assist with project planning and the sequence of construction. In addition, major site work was conducted, including provisions to maintain storage of water at the sites during construction. All tanks included special fit-up provisions, including power and telephone service, to permit OCWA to lease space to wireless telecommunication companies. This project allowed OCWA to provide increased in-system storage in each of the service areas, and replace aging facilities in need of repair.  As a result, system pressures were also enhanced.
