Providence Water Pilot Study presented by George Rest

OBG recently participated in the New England Water Works Association’s Annual Conference that took place September 17-20, 2017 at the Ocean Edge Resort in Brewster, MA. The Annual Conference brings experts together to discuss various topics affecting water treatment and management, sustainability, water resources, water quality, distribution, and groundwater.

George Rest, PE, a Senior Vice President at OBG, co-presented with Providence Water’s Deputy General Manager, Gregg Giasson, PE, and Water Quality Advisor, Kathy Mello, PE, BCEE. The presentation focused on a pilot study that OBG conducted for Providence Water’s 144 million gallons per day (MGD) Philip J. Holton Water Purification Plant (WPP). The pilot study – the largest conducted in the northeastern United States in recent history – explored innovative process combinations to control disinfection by-products at the WPP.
