Alicia Mitchell Elected Vice President of ASSE Region 6

Alicia Mitchell, CSP, CHMM

OBG is pleased to announce that Alicia Mitchell, a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM) who recently joined OBG’s Raleigh, NC office, has been elected vice president of the American Society of Safety Engineer’s (ASSE) Region 6. Alicia was sworn into her two-year term as regional vice president at the June 2016 ASSE Annual Membership Meeting.

Through this position, Alicia will provide leadership, assistance, and consultation to area directors and chapter presidents within Region 6 and chair the Regional Operating Committee. The region includes Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and the District of Columbia. The area also comprises 14 chapters, along with four student sections from East Carolina University, North Carolina A&T, Virginia Tech, and Western Carolina University. As a longtime member of the ASSE, Alicia has held positions within the executive committee of the North Carolina Chapter, serving as president–elect, president, and delegate for the 375-member chapter.

Alicia has more than 26 years of experience as an environmental, health, and safety (EH&S) professional. At OBG, Alicia is providing program management within the company’s national compliance practice. She provides complete EH&S compliance services, including Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) compliance audits; development of site specific or corporate EH&S policies and procedures; and onsite training.
